Before she had time to figure out how far away it struck, the bathroom door slammed. She gasped. The sudden intake of air almost sounded like a scream. Startled, she splashed water on the floor.

She got out of the bath and toweled off as fast as possible. She put on a pair of denim shorts and a tee shirt and wrapped a towel around her hair. She wondered what caused the door to close with so much force. She assumed there was a logical cause that had something to do with the ferocity of the approaching storm. She calmly dropped her towel over the wet spot on the floor. She took her hair dryer out of the cabinet below the sink and plugged it in. She turned it on and brushed her hair as she dried it.
